Ulster Rugby I Designing the European Jersey

August 15, 2016 | , , |

This year, Ulster Rugby will compete in a change strip for their Champions Cup run, with the new European jersey being worn for home and away games. As with the home and change strips for this year, the jersey is constructed with our 4DTech fabric, allowing the jersey to feel like a second skin for the players. Created by our team in Lisburn, County Antrim, the Elite Jersey provides more than just a great fit. We work closely with the team and coaching staff to develop a jersey that enables them to reach peak athletic performance. The jersey features a traditional rugby hoop design, with a modern twist. The two tone red hoops give the jersey a distinct look, with the white band across the chest giving the Ulster badge added prominence. There is a nod to the victorious 1999 team faded into the side panels, with the Champions Cup trophy proudly adorning a star that signifies the glorious campaign.
“We are delighted to have worked with Ulster Rugby to create their first ever European jersey. Working on a unique design that gives a nod to the proud history and heritage of the club has been an honour and we look forward to creating more unique kits for the team in the coming seasons.” Terry Jackson, General Manager, Kukri Sports
The final detail in the European jerseys provides a reminder to everyone that the loyalty and passion of the supporters make the club so special. The words “I take my stand by the Ulster names” are printed in gold, the opening line to the poem “Ulster Names” by John Hewitt. You can purchase your European Jersey at the Ulster Rugby Store at Kingspan Stadium, or from the online shop.
